Dr. Chris Starkey is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate within the Clean Materials Technology Group at University College London. He received his MSci Chemistry from the University of Nottingham in 2012, before taking a PhD position there in Chemical Engineering, using a continuous flow hydrothermal reactor to develop innovative routes towards a range of metal oxide, sulphide and phosphate nanomaterials in supercritical water.

He brings this experience of continuous flow reactors and nanomaterials synthesis to the ELEVATE project, where his role entails the materials discovery and particularly scale-up synthesis of Li-ion battery anode and cathode materials to satisfy the development, optimisation and testing of battery materials at coin cell, pouch cell and battery module level.
